Biography

Duo Dmitri brings together two of the Philadelphia region's most accomplished classical musicians: flutist Dmitri Kasyuk and pianist Luba Agranovsky. Both trained at Moscow's prestigious Gnessin Academy of Music, their partnership blends individual brilliance with a deep musical affinity. In 2009 they recorded the CD Timeless Classics, music for flute and piano.

Dmitri Kasyuk trained at the Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow and went on to study with celebrated pedagogues William Bennett at the Royal Academy of Music in London and Julius Baker at the Juilliard School in New York.

He served as soloist with the Moscow Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theatre Orchestra and as principal flutist with both the Moscow Chamber Orchestra and the Jerusalem Chamber Orchestra. His festival appearances include the Jerusalem, Edinburgh, and Spoleto festivals.

Since 2001, Dmitri has directed the School of Music at PJDS in Philadelphia and the Kellman Brown Academy in Cherry Hill, NJ. His students compete and perform nationally and internationally.

Luba Agranovsky — Pianist

A Moscow native, Luba Agranovsky holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the Gnessin Academy of Music. She performed with leading Israeli orchestras and recorded for Israeli media before relocating to the United States in 1997.

In the US she joined The Rachmaninov Trio and was featured in the Philadelphia Orchestra's Chamber Music Series from 1998 to 2019. She has taught at the Curtis Institute and Temple University's Boyer College of Music.

Luba maintains a private studio in Cherry Hill, NJ. Her students have won competitions and performed at Carnegie Weill Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, and the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.
